Dr Amelia Hausauer has made a name for herself in the study and practice of emerging techniques like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and microneedling. She recently completed an ASDS accredited cosmetic surgery fellowship at Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills with dermatologists Drs. Derek Jones and Naissan Wesley. Currently she is editing a textbook on PRP topics and has been selected by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery to create educational resources for providers.
AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
  • Understand the clinical trial considerations for the use of PRP injection for facial restoration, diagnosis and impact on patients.
  • Review safety and efficacy of emerging and current trends in aesthetic restoration, client selection, contraindications, reactions, and patient education.
  • Review protocol for injection placement, depth of penetration, microneedling, consent and intake forms.
  • Employ strategies to attain and retain patients.
  • Understand measurable endpoints of treatment and when to consider combination therapy, prescription, dosing, and at home regimen.

Target Audience
This activity is intended to meet the needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the diagnosis, presentation and impact on patient’s with various facial and scar concerns
  • Discuss combination therapy with platelet rich plasma (PRP) and chemical peels
  • Review the science & clinical literature regarding the use of microneedling (MN) in multiple aesthetics conditions
